ELECTION!! HOW CAN ONE DISCERN?
In a generation with such confused ideas, controversial agendas and life styles, and ungodly ideologies that tries to dictate one’s life. How can one discern and choose who is right to govern such a sovereign nation as America? Who in anyone of us will be able to foretell what an elected president or a government officials can or will be able to do for the good of each state and nation and its people.
In much consideration of all that we have heard and seen of each party and in the confusion of the whole ordeal of the unruly political games each party plays and throws at one another and the citizens who suffers in between their games. Each one of us can only pray and hope that the elected president or governmental official candidates will seek wisdom, understanding, and knowledge beyond what he or she knows and sees and above all that he or she may seek God to guide his or her time in the given positions of authority as state government officials and nation’s leaders.
In the recent months, in much prayer and seeking the heart of God concerning the issues which we are facing today for the sake of the United States of America and her people. I ask the Lord concerning the election and how will we discern which one to choose with what is presented to us as choices of whom to pick that would lead our country and sovereign nation.
Looking at all the candidates outwardly of the life styles of each one and the accomplish works and deeds of all of them; one can hardly come to terms with what we have to accept as someone who will be the leader of the states or nation. For each of us, we may not be able to see with our eyes what a person can or able to do or what they have done in their past other then what they’d presented as what they had accomplished for the world to believe. We only have a glimpse of what they have done or accomplished looking from an outside point of view or what the news and media, as bias as they are, only reveal to us what their opinions are according to their own wording of each situation to promote only what will benefit their company, their ego or to push their ideological agenda. But as individual we must seek further then the words of those who push their own agendas and wants to deceives others with intent to hide what is truth. Especially as Christians, those who seek God fervently for the sake of our nation and her people, we must humble ourselves to seek Him, the one and only person who is able to help us to discern who is the next person that The Lord has already destined and ordained for this very purpose and generation. For it is already written in the mysteries of the scripture which will only be revealed when the time comes.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
As I ponder upon what has happened over these last few recent years concerning the processes of the election of our nation to pick a leader who would lead the nation and her people in the paths of peace and prosperity for those who reside in her. The Lord has led me to the part of the scripture while in my prayers and seeking Him concerning this issue. And He has led me to read and understand that men only see the outward of things but God sees the heart.
1 Samuel 16 | King James Version
1 And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.
2 And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the Lord said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the Lord.
3 And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.
4 And Samuel did that which the Lord spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably?
5 And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the Lord: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
6 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord’s anointed is before him.
7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lordlooketh on the heart.
8 Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this.
9 Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this.
10 Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The Lord hath not chosen these.
11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.
12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.”
As the scripture reveals even as Samuel the prophet of God didn’t know whom God has picked, but in the flesh he thought many things and who he may think would be the one but to Samuel surprise God has chosen the little boy David and told Samuel that men only see the outward of things but God sees the heart. Who knows what God may see in these candidates and who knows whom God has already determined whose heart will be the one that will obey Him in the order that He will require of them.
As we have witness many situations concerning the state of what our nations has been in in the pass few recent years. At times what we think and or believe what is right is not exactly what God had showed us and/or unction our hearts and spirits about an individual and what the end result will be. The Lord had brought to my attention the scriptures where God had said in Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. “
God would always give us many indications of signs and wonders and warnings through His servant, prophets or people (if we choose to hear His Spirit) so that we may lend an ear and open our eyes to see and know and hear of His warnings. But with us, being as human as we are, we will miss many of the signs and warnings from God and we would result to the choices of oneself of who we want and not what God has for us and would choose something other then what God has clearly indicated. As we witness that our choices in the past few years have not been very wise and well for the nation and her citizens and even for the world.
I believe Sometime God would allow the things in which we choose (most time not well) to happen as we we think and see the destructions of it and that our choices have consequences so that we may know that we must look and seek beyond what we know and see and so that we will turn to seek and hear What God has shown us and why He has allowed certain things to happen so that we may know that our ways are MOST CERTAINLY not His ways.
My prayer for this election is may the Lord open our eyes and ears, our hearts and understandings to know and see that our ways are not as God’s ways and that He would give us peace as He will direct our spirits with confidence to choose what is righteous in His eyes and allow Him to put the rest of the situation in the order that has already been pre-written and pre-ordained concerning our lives and for this generation.
May The Lord be with you and your loved ones in all you do For His kingdom and glory. Amen.
